New Technical Bulletin - Adhesion Testing of Waterproofing Membranes |
The AIW Technical Committee has developed a new Technical Bulletin for our AIW Members.
Adhesion testing of waterproofing membranes is used to assess bond strength, verify surface preparation, and investigate failures in construction systems. It outlines key test methods (pull‑off, cross‑cut, and peel), highlights factors affecting adhesion such as substrate condition and moisture, and identifies common failure modes. The bulletin emphasizes that proper preparation and installation are critical, and that test results are localised and should be interpreted alongside other inspections.
